Whether you’re a first-year student moving into your very first rental, or a returning student who’s been renting for a while—this workshop is for you.

Hosted by your Students’ Union in partnership with the Together Against Poverty Society (TAPS), this interactive session will help you better understand your rights and responsibilities as a tenant in BC. In this workshop, you’ll learn about:

  • How to handle landlord issues

  • Conducting condition inspections

  • Getting your damage deposit back

  • Local renter resources in Nanaimo

Enjoy a free catered lunch: Roast chicken and BBQ pork ribs, roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages. Please let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions when you RSVP.
