Women’s Hiking Club

Campus: Nanaimo

We aim to create a welcoming environment for women and gender diverse students to develop confidence outdoors and establish sustainable practices with nature. The Women’s Hiking Club passionately refutes the patriarchal trope of the “great outdoorsmen,” which suggests the wilderness is a frontier for men to conquer, master, and tame. Land stewardship is paramount!

The club offers weekly opportunities for members to bask in nature’s healing qualities. Fresh air, socialization, and physical movement are our priorities. Club members can anticipate meeting new individuals and bonding over new adventures. 

We host general club meetings once a month.
