This category of club provides members an opportunity to engage with political and religious affiliations within the campus environment. Although the Students' Union is non-partisan and non-religious, it is important to provide members with an accessible and respectful outlet for their spiritual and political beliefs within the campus community.

MSA-VIU is affiliated with the MSA National, which is the uniting and coordinating body of all local Muslim Student Associations in North America. Focused on fulfilling the day to day needs of Muslim students on the VIU campus, MSA-VIU also works together with other chapters from other universitiies towards the common goal and purpose of serving the best interests of Islam and Muslims in the United States and Canada.
To achieve these goals, MSA-VIU has taken active roles both within the Muslim students and the Muslim community in Nanaimo as well as the general student population in VIU. We will also work with the managemwent committee of the Islamic Center of Nanaimo to organize events such as Eid BBQ, monthly informal afternoon tea gatherings, and social events including dinners and sport activities.
