Conference Attendance Grant
This grant supports students in attending conferences, workshops, seminars, or competitions that enhance their educational opportunities outside of the classroom. Grants can cover any eligible expenses to a maximum of $500/person and $4,000/group. Please ensure you have read through this page and understand the application criteria and eligibility prior to submitting your application.
Eligible expenses include:
registration fees (does not include organizational memberships)
accommodation costs (does not include food or beverages)
and travel costs.
In order to be eligible for funding applications must:
be received a minimum of eight (8) business days prior to the committee meeting;
include a description of the conference;
include names, emails, student numbers, and program of each applicant;
identify a primary applicant;
include a budget estimate with all eligible expenses and any additional funding sources;
include a description of the benefits of attending the conference;
be validated by a faculty member from the related faculty.
All applicants and attendees included in the application must:
be registered in at least one course in the semester the application is submitted;
not be receiving course or program credit for their attendance at the conference.
The following expenses shall not be eligible for funding:
Organizational memberships
Food and beverage expenses
Alcohol and cannabis
Expenses related to University Staff or Faculty, notwithstanding student employees.
